Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd and its subsidiaries Takaful Brunei Am Sdn Bhd (TBA) and Takaful Brunei Keluarga Sdn Bhd (TBK) distributed donations to over 40 orphans around the Brunei-Muara District yesterday.

In view of the restrictions to curb the spread of COVID-19, Takaful Brunei delivered the donations to the recipients at their homes, unlike in the previous years where Takaful Brunei presented the donations during Khatam Al-Quran ceremony held in various mosques around Brunei Darussalam.

Takaful Brunei hoped to raise awareness on the welfare of the less fortunate and help them prepare for Hari Raya.

Takaful Brunei recently provided donations to two underprivileged families in Kampong Lambak ‘B’ in Jalan Pasir Berakas, as part of its annual Ramadhan Jalur Kasih activity.

Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam Deputy General Manager Haji Md Saufee bin Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdullah led several other employees in presenting the families with basic necessities that included tinned food, clothing, detergent and fragrant rice.

The annual activity carried out by Takaful Brunei – consisting of Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd and its subsidiaries, Takaful Brunei Am Sdn Bhd (TBA) and Takaful Brunei Keluarga Sdn Bhd (TBK) – is aimed at extending a helping hand for the less fortunate members of society during Ramadhan and in the run-up for Syawal.

As part of its monthly corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, Takaful Brunei recently reached out to a less fortunate family under its Jalur Kasih activity that has been carried out since 2019, contributing basic necessities such as canned food, detergent and rice.

Jalur Kasih is carried out monthly to reach more families and instill a culture of charity within the company while encouraging the public to come together in lending a helping hand to those in need.

TAKAFUL Brunei, consisting of Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd and its subsidiaries, Takaful Brunei Am Sdn Bhd (TBA) and Takaful Brunei Keluarga Sdn Bhd(TBK), recently conducted their annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) effort, Jalur Kasih.

According to a press release, the activity of reaching out to families in Brunei Darussalam who are less fortunate has been done consistently over the past years during Ramadhan.

However, since the beginning of this year, Takaful Brunei has extended the Jalur Kasiheffort and committed to holding it on a monthly basis to reach out to more families and instil a culture of charitability within the company.

The press release stated that Takaful Brunei officers and staff visited five homes in the Temburong District, during which they met with the less fortunate who lacked basic necessities.

Takaful Brunei contributed stocks of basic necessities such as canned food, clothing detergent, cooking ingredients, fragrant rice and more.

Each visit concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat to offer blessings and hope for their burdens to be eased.

Takaful Brunei aims to promote awareness of the less fortunate and encourage the community to provide assistance during the holy month of Ramadhan.

The Acting Managing Director of Takaful Brunei, Haji Shahrildin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Utama Dato Paduka Haji Jaya, led 24 officers and staff members on a visit of 12 houses, where they distributed food and other basic necessities to several orphans, single mothers, low-income families, senior citizens and individuals with special needs.

The donations are hoped to ease the recipients’ burdens in preparing for the Hari Raya festivities, while forging closer ties among all communities in Brunei Darussalam.

TAKAFUL Brunei and its subsidiaries, TBA and TBK, once again reached out to the less fortunate as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility activities during the holy month of Ramadhan when Muslims are encouraged to do good deeds.

The management, officers and staff volunteered to participate in the activity called ‘Jalur Kasih’. ‘Jalur Kasih’ aims to assist the needy and to lessen the burden of the less fortunate, as well as to create awareness of and instil the virtues of charity within the employees and the company.

For this year, 24 officers and staff visited 12 houses all over the Brunei-Muara and Tutong districts. During these visits, they had the opportunity to lend a helping hand and understand the difficulties faced by the less fortunate, couples with many children, non-working single mothers, orphans, disabled and senior citizens who are in dire need of assistance.

Takaful Brunei hopes that the community should come together to provide assistance to the less fortunate, especially in preparation for the festive month of Syawal to make sure the joyous occasion is enjoyed by all members of the community, as well as to enhance closer ties with communities all over Brunei Darussalam.

The recent charitiy drive entitled ‘Jalur Kasih’ saw the participation of employees of the financial institution, Takaful Brunei Am Sdn Bhd (TBA) and Takaful Brunei Keluarga Sdn Bhd (TBK) across the four districts of the Sultanate including the Chairman of Takaful Brunei, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Major General (R) Dato Seri Pahlawan Hj Mohammad Hj Daud and Acting Managing Director Hj Shahrildin Pehin Dato Hj Jaya.

In the Brunei-Muara district, a total of 24 officers and staff visited 11 houses, and handed stocks of groceries such as canned foods, clothing detergent, cooking ingredients, fragrant rice and more. Meanwhile, 20 officers and staff visited 13 houses in the Belait, Tutong and Temburong districts.

During the visit, the Takaful Brunei employees had the opportunity to meet up with underprivileged individuals and families such as non-working single mothers, orphans, disabled and senior citizens who lacked proper treatment.
