Donations galore as acts of kindness spread

Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) handed over financial contributions totalling BND88,400 to 79 mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide at the Multipurpose Hall of YSHHB Complex yesterday.

The donations were aimed at supporting the propagation of Islam and organisation of religious activities especially during Ramadhan.

Minister of Health and Deputy Chairman of the YSHHB Board of Directors Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar handed over the contributions.

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports and member of the YSHHB Board of Directors Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin; and Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the Ministry of Development and Acting Managing Director of YSHHB Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak were present with officials from YSHHB and government agencies.

Meanwhile, former students and teachers of Muhammad Alam Primary School held a Doa Arwah and handed over donations at the Seria Branch of the Belait District Office recently.

Muhammad Alam Primary School Acting Headmistress Siti Haironi binti Haji Ibrahim was welcomed on arrival by Hassan bin Haji Masri who represented chairman for the reunion group Dr Haji Muhd Shah bin Imam Haji Ahmad.

Former teacher Haji Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman presented donations to five orphans studying at the school.

Group advisor Hajah Julia Chee also presented financial aids.

The alumni group with 94 members plans to conduct similar events leading to a reunion at the school hall on May 30.

Elsewhere, Takaful Brunei reached out to less fortunate families with donations of basic necessities such as canned food, detergent, cooking ingredients and rice in its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative named Jalur Kasih.

Visits to the residences were accompanied by recitation of Doa Selamat.
